Stream with rock bed and green trees

A Resident’s Guide to Community Policies

When: June 27 through July 13 from 5:30pm - 7:00pm

Are you concerned about the environment? Local flooding issues? Erosion?

Join us for a two-part workshop about the importance of protecting our streamside buffer zones. You'll learn what a riparian buffer is, their functions, and different modes of protection at the local level. We'll help you navigate the different plans your municipality might have, including master plans, tree protection plans, ordinances, and watershed action plans. These workshops are meant to give a baseline understanding of riparian zones, their protection, personal impact, and related local policies. Workshops will be geared towards the city/watershed where they are held, but all are welcome to attend.

You'll receive:
A toolkit with all content, worksheets, and sites for additional resources
Tips and language for attending public meetings
A free native seedling! (must come to part 2 of the workshop)
