Brown bags on sidewalk with grass & tree

The weather is beginning to turn, and grass has started to grow, this is the time when many people begin spring cleaning both inside and out.

The 2023 Yard Waste Collection Program has already started.  Place all yard waste in brown paper yard waste bags or designated yard waste cans.  Leaves must be contained in paper yard waste bags or yard waste cans.  Loose leaves will not be collected.  Leaves are not vacuum collected in the spring.

You can pick up “Yard Waste Only” stickers at the Service Department office during regular working hours (Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.).  Put these stickers on your privately purchased no larger than 40-gallon cans and place at the curb for your weekly collection day.

DO NOT PLACE YARD WASTE IN PLASTIC BAGS – THEY WILL NOT BE COLLECTED

*Remind your landscape company  of the city ordinance. Yard waste is not to be placed at the curb before 5:00 p.m. the day before your scheduled collection day (ord. 951.02).

Do not place your city containers, yard waste or brush at the curb prior to 5:00 p.m. the day before your scheduled collection (ord. 951.02).  Please also remember all trash, recycling & yard waste must be placed at the curb by 7:00 a.m. your day of collection and all receptacles removed from the tree lawn the same day.  We receive many complaints about early items and emptied receptacles left out.

With your continued cooperation, we will keep Lyndhurst beautiful and a place we love to call home!
