The season of thanks and giving is nearly upon us; a season where we can show gratitude for our many blessings and give of ourselves in ways large or small to those in need. I, for one, am thankful for loving family, fantastic friends, a well-purposed staff who strive to provide great service to our wonderful residents, and a Council who do all they can to support our tremendous community. I count myself lucky in many ways.

By the time you read this letter election season (thankfully) will be behind us, political promotions will have been replaced with holiday promises and, with any luck, things will have begun to settle down. My only hope is, that the successful candidates have the resolve to carry forward what has been pledged. I believe that is what we deserve and, often, is not what is delivered. That being said, we maintain a strong relationship with those who you, the voters, have tasked with our representation to the benefit of our community.

In this issue of Lyndhurst Life you will find information about our Holiday events, our Olivia's Dream Toy Drive, our Food Drive, our selected "Unique Boutiques of the Week" and news about our participation in the Kindland initiative. We have been so proud of our residents' generosity in our toy and food drives in past years and are hopeful, given the greater amount of need in the greater community, we can all step up once more in true Lyndhurst fashion. I believe it is so appropriate we come into our participation in Kindland at the same time we are kicking off our holiday campaigns, especially the Olivia's Dream Toy Drive as it was "Olivia's dream in life to give back to other children in need," truly a dream founded in kindness.

May each of you enjoy every happiness for the Holiday Season and the coming New Year!
