Ohio Spring Severe Weather Awareness Week

This week (March 21-27), is designated as Ohio's Spring Severe Weather Awareness Week. During this week we ask all Cuyahoga County Employees to be aware that Spring brings the increased possibility of flooding, severe thunderstorms, tornadoes, and associated hazards such as hail, high winds, and lightning strikes. Please find the attached fact sheets to help you and your families prepare for severe weather.

Also, please be especially aware that while tornadoes can occur at any time, late spring and summer are the prime season for tornado activity within the State of Ohio. The weather in Cuyahoga County has already been tumultuous. To help you be more prepared for severe weather multiple factsheets are attached to this email.

To prepare residents for the danger of tornadoes, a Statewide Tornado Drill is scheduled for this Wednesday, March 24th 2021 Calendar event icon. at 9:50 AM.

During the Tornado Drill, communities across the state of Ohio will test their tornado sirens or other weather warning systems. In addition, an Emergency Alert System (EAS) warning message will be broadcast.

Cuyahoga County will send a test message through the County's ReadyNotify Emergency Notification System during the Drill. If you have not done so already, please take moment to verify your information, or re-register, in the upgraded ReadyNotify System by visiting:
