Fall 2018 Leaf Program Pick-Up Schedule and Guidelines
Original Release: 10/16/2018
Dear Neighbors,
Leaves:
The City of Lyndhurst will be vacuuming piles of leaves from the tree lawns. Leaf pick up will not be on a set schedule, but, instead will be on an "as needed" basis. Projection on leaf fall, at this time, indicates that vacuum pick up will start very soon.
All leaves that are collected from tree lawns will be composted, and made into leaf humus and other soil amendments. Therefore, it is extremely important that you place all leaves on your tree lawn in piles for vacuum pick up. At the end of the season, if you should have small quantities of leaves, please bag them in paper yard waste bags or place them in your designated yard waste container.
Because of a safety hazard, leaves are not to be piled in the street or gutter. Leaves piled in this area will not be picked up, and the resident will be notified to remove the leaves or be cited (C.O. 660.03).
