![]() Lyndhurst Garden Club Presents What is Going on at Acacia Metroparks? November 5th 2015 Original Release: 10/23/2015 ![]() What: What is Going on at Acacia Metroparks? Speaker: Constance Hausman, Ph.D., Plant Restoration Ecologist, Cleveland Metroparks When: Thursday, November 5th 2015. Business meeting at 7:00 PM. Program at 8:00 PM. Where: Lyndhurst Community Center, 1341 Parkview Drive, Lyndhurst, Ohio 44124. Description: Acacia Reservation, a 155-acre green space oasis, is located in the City of Lyndhurst. The Conservation Fund, a Virginia-based private nonprofit conservation group, paid more than $14 million for the club in 2012 and deeded it over to the Metroparks in order that it would be turned it back into a preserve and a park. Local and regional ecological experts are working together to create the most effective restoration plan for Acacia. Constance Hausman, Ph.D, is a Plant and Restoration Ecologist with the Cleveland Metroparks Division of Natural Resources. Her duties include the development and implementation of habitat restoration projects as well as ecosystem assessment. She has taught as an adjunct professor at Baldwin Wallace University and is a member of the Ohio Biological Survey and the Lake Erie Allegheny Partnership. Come join us!
