![]() They Say It Takes A Village ... A Special Thank You From Lyndhurst Lifesavers Team Captain and Community Center Coordinator Melissa Weldon Released: 4/9/2015 ![]() On behalf of the Lyndhurst Lifesavers, our Hillcrest area Relay For Life team, I would like to thank all those who helped make our "Breakfast with the Bunny" fundraiser a success. Whether you cooked, set / cleared tables, or just came to eat ... Thank You! With your support, we were able to raise almost $700.00 for the American Cancer Society. Money that will be used for patient and family support services, education and research. This breakfast would never have happened without the tremendous help we received from Councilman Pat Ward, his wife Judy, their daughter Linda, son William and his wife Sarah, Councilman Jeff Price and his wife Beth, Susan Windle and Zach Marcus from the offices of Legacy Village, John Gregorc and Lyzz DiGiovanni. I would also like to thank Councilmen Joe Marko, Joe Gambatese and Lane Schlessel for their help as well. I can honestly say I do not think I know anyone who hasn't been touched by or had their world turned upside down by this disease. Are we making progress? Sure, the rates for successful treatments (remissions) are rising; but so are the numbers of newly diagnosed cases, and it has to stop. We need a cure, and we need it NOW! May you and yours be well and stay well, Melissa A. Weldon Team Captain, Lyndhurst Lifesavers We will celebrate, remember, and fight ... please bring your family and friends and join us on Saturday June 20th between the hours of 12:00 Noon and 12:00 Midnight for the 2015 Hillcrest Area Relay For Life, Carnival for a Cure, taking place at Mayfield High School. This event is family friendly, free, and open to the general public. More information at: www.relayforlife.org/hillcrest. |
