From The Police Department Released: 1/27/2012 Print   Close   Help keep our streets safe and orderly. Pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists should obey all applicable laws. Drive only in lanes designated for your direction of travel and purpose. Do not travel through safety zones and do not text while driving. You may prevent a serious crash and/or save yourself an expensive fine and points on your driver's license.   Protect your valuables! Do not leave purses, wallets, cell phones, laptop computers, etc. inside your vehicle, and always lock your car doors-even when in your driveway. It takes only seconds for a thief to make off with your possessions. If you must leave valuables in your car, do not leave them in plain view. The best place is the trunk or a secure location otherwise not visible from outside the vehicle.   Remember you are the eyes and ears of the police department.
