From The Community Center Released: 1/27/2012 Print   Close   If you made a new year's resolution to get more involved ... then look no further than your own Community Center. We are home to the offices of the Community Partnership on Aging (formerly Tri-City Seniors) and the Hillcrest Meals on Wheels program, both of which use volunteers to assist them in a variety of daytime roles.   If your daily schedule is already full, consider joining one of the many clubs that meet on a monthly basis, in the evenings. Whether you are looking for an organization that is service oriented or strictly social, there is plenty to choose from - Al Santos's VFW POST 7356 and the Ladies Auxiliary, Hillcrest Women's Club/GFWC, Lyndhurst CERT** (Community Emergency Response Team, no cost, training required.), Lyndhurst Dads' Club, Lyndhurst Democratic Club, Lyndhurst Garden Club, Lyndhurst Republican Club, and the SELREC Seniors.   Please save these dates:   Thursday, February 2nd - Red Cross Bloodmobile 1pm - 7pm Returning the 1st Thursday in April, June, August, October and December   Monday, February 20th - Safe Sitter Babysitting Class 9am - 4 pm for boys & girls 11 - 13 yrs old. Provided in partnership with UH Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital.   Tuesday, March 6th - Election Day   Saturday, March 10th - Ladies of Lyndhurst 8th Annual Fashion Show, Luncheon & Boutique Featuring wonderful Spring/Summer fashions from Coldwater Creek of Legacy Village. This is a benefit for the American Cancer Society to benefit the American Cancer Society.   The Community Center continues to collect your old cell phones, iPods, and MP3 players, working or not. For each item "we" keep out of the landfill, we will receive a donation to the American Cancer Society.
