Joseph A. Marko, Chairman Public Lands & Buildings Committee February 20, 2012: Public Lands and Buildings Committee MINUTES: The Public Lands & Buildings Committee met on Monday, February 20, 2012 in the conference room at Lyndhurst Municipal Center. Present at the meeting were members of the committee Councilmen Marko, Frey and Packard. Also present other members of council, Finance Director Mary Kovalchik, The purpose of the meeting was to discuss pool fees and pool employees salaries. The meeting was called to order at 7:00PM with the committee first discussing the pool compensation. The changes to the wage rates are necessary to be in compliance with the 2012 Minimum Wage for non-tipped employees of $7.70 per hour. It was also decided to raise the salary range of the pool director to include the additional salary reimbursed by SELREC. It was moved by Councilman Frey and seconded by Councilman Packard that the following changes be made to the pool compensation ordinance: Pool Director salary per annum shall be within a range of $8000 $13,400. The previous salary range was 8,000.00 - $12,000. The following was also deleted: "The Pool Director shall receive an additional salary of $1,400 per swimming season, which shall be reimbursed by the South Euclid Lyndhurst Recreation Commission. Payment shall be made during the period of active service as determined by the Mayor." The following hourly rates were also changed. The new rate is indicated in Italics.
The question was put to vote and passed unanimously. The committee then discussed the pool fees and it was decided by the committee not to make any changes to the current fee structure providing South Euclid did not make any significant changes to their pool fee ordinance. No other business was discussed and the meeting adjourned at 7:44. Respectfully, Joseph A.
